Jessica Mazerik, PhD

Dr. Jessica Mazerik is the Associate Director of Data Operations at the Coalition for Aligning Science, where she applies her experience in building collaborative data ecosystems to support data strategy across the ARIA Initiative. She brings expertise in leading data strategy and operations across large, diverse research networks to enable data transparency and interoperability. She is excited to build relationships across the ARIA Initiative to facilitate the best outcomes for reuse of the data and future autism research.

Before joining CAS, Dr. Mazerik was the Program Director for the HEAL Data Ecosystem at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In prior positions at NIH in the Immediate Office of the Director and the Office of Data Science and Strategy, she implemented programs and policy focused on data management and sharing, artificial intelligence, and data science training for biomedical researchers. She served as a program officer at the National Eye Institute, where she ran a prize competition aimed at developing new 3D organoid models to study retinal degeneration, and at the National Cancer Institute, where her portfolio included research projects aimed at developing organoid cell lines from human cancer cells and securely sharing matched genomic and clinical data.

Dr. Mazerik has a PhD in cell biology from Vanderbilt University and a BS in biology from Ohio State University.
